Visual Worship

So in little over a month I have to run two 2 hour workshops for St Albans diocesan youth service on 'Preparing and using visuals in worship.' If anyone has any idea a) what that is or b) any ideas of activities I could set and c) any resources I could pillage - I would be very appreciative! (Ben I'm hoping you've got something up your sleeve!)

Thank you very much - and don't all rush to my aid at once...

it strikes me that you are already well equipped to lead these sessions but here's a couple of resources that i would use if i were in your position. Proost have an excellent site with various visuals for use in worship: http://www.proost.co.uk/

Multi sensory worship (available on amazon) is a great resource for those who are new to using images and ritual in worship.

Finally, I worked with bob mayo and dennis morris to produce a series of images aimed at helping young people explore the Easter story. The resource is available through CMS (8 quid) and contains a narrative that explores the significance of using images with young people. This project was informed by some of my own work using images to explore key themes and Bob's research on a similar theme. Bob's research is published in a book called making sense of generation Y and is available on amazon.

I'm happy to chat through my reflections on using images in worship if that would help at all.
